Standing up to the Coup – Nonpartisan League of Nebraska

The Nonpartisan League of Nebraska is hosting “The Omaha Resistance: Standing Up to the Coup,” a community event featuring prominent local advocates and organizers discussing the urgent need for political action in Nebraska.

Speakers:
Jasmine Harris – Mayoral candidate and Director of Public Policy and Advocacy at RISE, a nonprofit dedicated to preparing incarcerated individuals for successful reentry.
Anna Hernandez – Regional Organizing Director of Nebraska For Us, a coalition advocating for economic justice and fair representation in Nebraska’s 2nd Congressional District.
Seth Cope – Revolutionary Communist and co-founder of Omaha Tenants United (OTU), Nebraska’s first tenant union fighting against slumlords and housing injustices.

This event will address pressing political and economic challenges facing Nebraskans and explore ways to stand up against systemic injustices.
