Secular Book Club – Private home – Jan 5, 2025

January 5 @ 12:30 pm - 2:30 pm

Free

*** This week, we will be gathering at the home of a member, Doris.  If you are not known to the host, please  take a pass on this meeting, and join us at our next gathering at HyVee, Papillion. ***

Currently reading:  “ The Wonder Paradox.”  As the holiday season contnues to make demands on time and energy, we are targeting Ch 13 and 14.  This is about 30 pages, taking us to approx P 233, depending on format.   If you are using audio, listen for the prompt: “On Funerals and Memorials” – this is your place to stop.

Next Book will be: “Chokepoint Capitalism”, so you can start sourcing your copy now!  We expect to start that book in about 2 weeks.

Looking to engage in thoughtful (and/or fun) discussions and connect with fellow book lovers? Join the Omaha Metro Area Humanist Association’s Weekly Book Club! We gather every week to explore the latest chapters of our selected non-fiction book, engage in lively conversations, and enjoy a relaxed lunch together. Our meetups offer a welcoming environment for those interested in deepening their knowledge on a variety of thought-provoking topics.

Our book club focuses on a wide range of non-fiction genres that inspire curiosity and expand our understanding of the world. From the history of world philosophies and scientific discoveries to the evolution of humanity—both physical and psychological—we cover books that encourage critical thinking and meaningful dialogue. We typically complete a book in 4-6 weeks, allowing for an in-depth exploration of each topic.

We look forward to welcoming you to our community of readers and thinkers!
