About Us

The Omaha Metro Area Humanist Association (OMAHA) exists to build a welcoming community for non-theistic and non-religious individuals who seek to live ethical, meaningful, and fulfilling lives guided by reason, empathy, science, and a commitment to human well-being. Whether you are a lifelong Omaha resident or new to the area, OMAHA provides opportunities to connect with other freethinkers, secular humanists, skeptics and those who share a passion for making a positive impact in our community. Explore our upcoming events on the Events Page and join the conversation on our Facebook page.

Our Mission and Vision

At OMAHA, we believe in the power of community. We recognize the value of the unique life experiences and perspectives each member brings to our group, and we understand that diversity is key to creating a dynamic and supportive environment. Our vision is to grow from a group of individuals with shared values to a caring and active community that supports one another and promotes Humanism throughout the Omaha area.

What We Stand For

If you prioritize the well-being of humanity above that of any imagined divine being and believe that our responsibility is to lead ethical lives that contribute to the greater good, then you are aligned with Humanist principles. If you value a worldview informed by science, enriched by art, and motivated by compassion, you are a Humanist. And if you believe in upholding the dignity, rights, and freedoms of all people while fostering social and environmental responsibility, we welcome you to join OMAHA.

Join Us in Building a Better World

OMAHA is more than just a group—it’s a community. We invite you to participate in our activities, share your ideas, and help us make a difference. By becoming a member, you’ll be part of a network that encourages personal growth, community engagement, and advocacy for secular values. Together, we strive to create a more just, compassionate, and rational society for all.
